“If you’re not familiar with the book Ametora: How Japan Saved American Style by W. David Marx, I highly recommend doing yourself a favor and picking up a copy. The book explores how over the last two decades some of the most ‘authentic’ American garments are actually made in Japan. It traces the Japanese assimilation of American fashion over the past 150 years, and it’s unbelievably eye opening to those of us who love classic and traditional menswear. I’m constantly researching for Morris & King, how garments, accessories, and home goods are made, styled, and utilized for every day life; and it’s incredible how Japan has managed to embrace and perfect Classic ‘American’ Style down to the smallest (and historically accurate) detail. Popeye and Brutus, along with many others publications in Japan, do an incredible job of showcasing not only fashion, but lifestyle and culture. I’ve been ordering my own personal copies for years as research tools, and felt many of you would appreciate us carrying them in the shop.” - Chris Morris

Brutus is a Japanese men's magazine focusing on pop culture, lifestyles, and culture in Tokyo, Japan.
