Dark Navy Pineapple T-Shirt
"The Summer '25 Capsule pays homage to the Charleston Pineapple. The tradition dates back to early Colonial Days when the city was a prominent port. Fruits of such a sweet nature were rare enough, and with pineapple's coming from tropical regions they were considered even more rare. Hosts offering pineapple as a treat symbolized not only their status as a member of society, but a high level of hospitality for their guests as the fruit was so difficult to come by. As time went on, the pineapple took on many meanings. Sailors coming home from long voyages would spear a pineapple to symbolize they had arrived safely, and it was also used as a signal of open invitation for neighbors to come and enjoy a meal or drink to exchange stories. The Charleston Pineapple has been woven into the very fabric of the city's identity with representations of the fruit throughout its architecture. As you stroll through town, you can find them adorned in stone, iron gates, and most famously Waterfront Park's 'Pineapple' Fountain." - Chris Morris
